What should we pray for?

What should we pray for?

Oh wow, I can’t believe we are in the last quarter of the year already.  It is amazing how everything went by so fast, God is good. Welcome to my blog if this is your first time stopping by, I am so happy to have you here. If you are a returning reader, I love you so much and I mean it. If you haven't checked out my most recent post titled "How to control negative thoughts", please check it out here.

I don’t know how your year has been but mine has been great. I thank God for the seasons He birthed in me. I can tell you that I grew a lot this year. I believe that I am conforming to the image of God, from glory to glory.

I put together a list of prayer points to help guide us throughout this season. The first five prayers apply to everyone while the others are subject to the seasons and situations we are in life (you'd notice the change in language). Please, feel free to stand in the gap for your friends and loved ones if you see the one that applies to them.

Remember, God is on our side. We don’t beg or “force” God to do something, He is willing to do things for us. When we pray, we’re siding with Him in bringing His will to pass over all things that concern us.

2 Corinthians 1:20 (NKJV) For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

Prayer of thanksgiving

Psalm 9:1 (NIV) I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.

God, I thank you for all that you have done for me throughout the year till this very moment. I thank you for showing yourself mightily in my health, my business/career, my relationship/marriage, my finances, my spiritual journey. I know that it is by your grace alone that I am standing today despite everything that has been thrown in my path. I thank you because I know I shall finish this year in victory on every side. In Jesus name have I prayed, amen.

Prayer of intercession

Ephesians 6:18 (KJV) Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Lord Jesus, I lift up my family, friends, church leaders, and nations all over the world into your able hands. I thank you, Lord because only your counsel shall stand over us and ours. I pray for every family going through one storm or situation, I pray that your peace shall become the order of the day in Jesus name. I pray for all my friends, that you shall meet them at the point of their every need. Those needs that are too deep for them to share, I pray that you shall lighten their burden in Jesus name. I pray for our church leaders, that you will continue to uphold them and strengthen them. As they water us frequently, you will continue to water them. I pray that they receive more grace in Jesus name. Finally, we pray for all nations of the world. Your word says in Proverbs 21:1 that the heart of the king is in your hands. We pray that you shall continue to stir the hands of the leaders on every level to do things that will make life easier for their citizens, things that will bring glory to your name.

Prayer for healing

Isaiah 53:4-5 (NIV) 4 Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. 5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

Jesus, I speak healing to everyone reading this blog right now. I command that every pain, inconvenience, sickness living in your body ceases this very moment. Your body was created by God, therefore, darkness can’t stand. As a believer, you operate under the spirit of life in Christ not under the spirit of sin and death. Therefore, no sickness or disease is allowed to take hold of your body. I decree this moment that you are disease and sickness free. You are free from cough, cold, cuts, menstrual pain, arthritis, fertility issues, ulcer, malaria, typhoid, cancer and all other diseases. I speak that you are healed in Jesus name. I decree a clean bill of health henceforth in Jesus name. (Pray for your loved ones you know experiencing any sickness)

Prayer of finding purpose

Jeremiah 29:11(NIV) For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Father, as for those that are still confused as to why you created them and put them in this current location, I ask that you make their purpose become crystal clear to them. I ask in the name of Jesus that you give their life meaning as they discover purpose. Henceforth, they are working in the ordained part you have set before them. As for anything that wants to distract them from the race you have set in front of them, we nullify in the name of Jesus. They shall fulfil purpose!

Prayer for careers, businesses and finances

Jeremiah 17:7 But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.

In the name of Jesus, I commit the business and career of every reader into your hands. I decree that your sources of income shall not dry up. I pray that you receive the spirit of diligence and excellence to be set aside in your professions. I know that you have the Holy Spirit, therefore, you will not dwell in mediocrity. I decree that nations are coming to receive answers from your lips. I decree that you are solution givers. I pray that your finances are settled and debts and cancelled. I pray that you receive the deep knowledge and grace to use your finances for the furtherance of the gospel. I pray that you receive insight into all the deep secrets of wealth creation. I decree that your money shall work for you and not against you. I decree that you shall not toil or struggle with nothing to show for it in Jesus name.

Prayer for the fruit of the womb

Oh God, you are the one that gives the power the conceive, carry to full term and to deliver safely. We decree that wombs are opened this moment in Jesus name. There are no more tears, shame or stigma relating to the expecting mothers among us. We decree that seeds are being planted safely in the wombs of all those who desire to have their own children. We decree that there shall be a cry of joy from these homes in the next 9 months in Jesus name.

Prayer for marriages

We pray in the name of Jesus, that you go into the homes and fix whatever situation is going on. We decree that every spirit of selfishness, lustful desires, confusion, disagreement be destroyed in the name of Jesus. You are the one that instituted marriage, therefore the blueprint of the successful marriage is in your hands. We pray that your sons and daughters going through a rough patch in marriage find a way back to themselves in Christ. We pray that men that have left with strange women are returning home to their wives. We decree that women that have left home out of stubbornness are returning home. We decree that your counsel shall be the other of the day in marital relationships in Jesus name. We pray for sweetness from above into every marriage, things are getting sweeter and better. The married ones shall not know a better yesterday in Jesus name, amen

Prayer for relationships

We commit relationships into your able hands. We pray that you will give all those in relationships clarity about the situation they are in. Father reveal to them if the relationship is the one you have a purpose for them. Lord God, we come against every time wasters, every deceiver, every liar. We pray that relationships will not end in tears of sadness in Jesus name. We speak speed into all the plans that lead to marriage in Jesus name. We decree that we shall be sensitive to the Holy Spirit about the right choices. We recieve a spirit to discern who is our spouse in Jesus name.

Prayer for children

We commit the little ones into your able hands. We pray that they shall continue to be covered by your angles and your love. They shall not be abused emotionally, spiritually, sexually in Jesus name. They shall continue to grow in strength, wisdom, and stature in Jesus name. We pray that they shall be obedient and peaceful. They shall not bring any form of shame or disappointment to their parents in Jesus name. All that is needed for their care is provided supernaturally in Jesus name.

Let us remain encouraged in this season. There is a lot that God wants to birth into our lives and realities, we get these things in the place of prayers. Don’t get weary or discouraged, just keep on praying. I pray and hope that these prayer points will encourage someone out there to stay in the place of prayers.

Do’s and Don’ts of a spiritual fast

Do’s and Don’ts of a spiritual fast  By Bibi Babatunde-Ikotun Hello, welcome to my blog. If you clicked on this link it’s either you’re fasting already or are planning to fast. The good thing is you’re planning to have an effective fast by seeking all the information you can get on this. I won’t waste much of your time and I’ll get into it. Don’ts of fasting -  Have a Transactional mindset : A long time ago I thought fasting was about doing something so God will bless you. This led to a string of disappointment because I never got what I wanted from him. After all, I deprived myself for God but He didn’t do his part. We must first understand that fasting is not to move God, it’s to help us align with the move he’s made. The bible says in Ephesians 1.3 (NKJV) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. God is always on our side, we need not deal with him on a transaction basis. We fast to tra

What does it mean to be complete in Christ?

What does it mean to be complete in Christ? When you look at yourself, what do you see? Do you see someone who is imperfect and lacking in many areas? Do you sometimes find yourself thinking these thoughts? God is angry with me. I’m too dirty and damaged for Him to accept me. Why would God want to be with me when I’m a hot mess. Let me give you a secret, it doesn't matter how you feel or what you think. All that matters is what God has said in His word. His word says you are Complete in Christ! You are whole! Nothing missing, nothing lost, nothing broken! This is not by your deeds or something you are on your own. This is because you're in Christ!  Are you in Christ? Colossians 2:9-10 (NKJV) For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead [a]bodily; 10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all [b]principality and power. Colossians 2:9-10 (TPT) For he is the complete fullness of deity living in human form. 10 And our own completeness is now found in him . We are co

Prayers to know God's purpose over your life

Prayers to know God's purpose over your life  by Bibi Babatunde-Ikotun Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog. It's good to have you here and I love the fact that you keep coming back every week. May God bless you and enlarge your coast. So today, I will be sharing some prayer points about coming into purpose with you. If you've followed me for a while now, you'd know that I'm passionate for every child of God to come into God's purpose for their life. With the consistent hustle and bustle of this world, finding purpose may be the last thing on our mind. I have also conversed with people that have become so uninterested in finding purpose because of the way it has been presented to them in the time past. I am a big advocate of seeking God and being submitted to Him, He will definitely direct your path into purpose. Here are 6 prayer points to help you know God's will for your life 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV) give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s w
