Nest With Me: Preparing for Baby Girl in a Cozy Space

Nest With Me: Preparing for Baby Girl in a Cozy Space

Preparing for a new baby is an adventure in itself, but doing it in a two-bedroom apartment with about 800 square feet? That’s a whole different level of creativity! With limited space, lots of love, and a pink-and-grey theme in mind, we’ve been busy making our cozy home ready for our baby girl’s arrival.

A Little Space, A Lot of Love

Our apartment may not be huge, but every corner is filled with heart and purpose. The second bedroom will remain a guest room for now while out little one stays in our room for a considerable while. But we've been able to carve an area and transform it into a nursery, and the theme—pink and grey—adds the perfect touch of sweetness and serenity. .

The Real MVP: My Friend Diane

I owe so much of this nesting success to my amazing friend Diane. She’s basically a home organization guru thanks to her extensive knowledge gained from watching countless home reorganization videos. Diane has a knack for maximizing space, turning even the smallest nooks into functional and stylish storage areas.

Together, we found clever ways to make room for all the baby essentials without overwhelming our apartment. Vertical storage, bins, and multi-purpose furniture have become lifesavers. I couldn’t have done it without her!

My Husband: The Furniture Assembly Hero (Almost)

Now, let’s talk about my husband. Assembling furniture may not be his strongest skill, but his determination (and countless trips to concierge to pick up a million baby shower gifts) make up for it. Watching him wrestle with the crib instructions was equal parts adorable and hilarious, and honestly, I wouldn’t trade those moments for anything. He’s poured so much love into this nursery, and that’s what really matters.

Small Space, Big Gratitude

Preparing for a baby in a small space has its challenges, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. It’s taught me to prioritize what’s truly important and to embrace creativity and teamwork. Every little detail in the nursery—from the neatly folded onesies to the shelves lined with books and toys—feels special because it’s been created with so much thought and care.

To Diane, for your incredible organization skills, and to my husband, for your endless effort and love: thank you for helping me create a space where our little girl will feel right at home.

For anyone else preparing for a baby in a small space, my advice is simple:

  • Get a friend like Diane (seriously, they’re lifesavers).
  • Embrace multifunctional furniture and smart storage solutions.
  • Don’t sweat the small stuff—love is the most important ingredient in any nursery.

Our little apartment may not be the biggest, but it’s filled to the brim with excitement and love as we wait for our baby girl to arrive. And really, that’s all she needs.

Do’s and Don’ts of a spiritual fast

Do’s and Don’ts of a spiritual fast  By Bibi Babatunde-Ikotun Hello, welcome to my blog. If you clicked on this link it’s either you’re fasting already or are planning to fast. The good thing is you’re planning to have an effective fast by seeking all the information you can get on this. I won’t waste much of your time and I’ll get into it. Don’ts of fasting -  Have a Transactional mindset : A long time ago I thought fasting was about doing something so God will bless you. This led to a string of disappointment because I never got what I wanted from him. After all, I deprived myself for God but He didn’t do his part. We must first understand that fasting is not to move God, it’s to help us align with the move he’s made. The bible says in Ephesians 1.3 (NKJV) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. God is always on our side, we need not deal with him on a transaction basis. ...

What does it mean to be complete in Christ?

What does it mean to be complete in Christ? When you look at yourself, what do you see? Do you see someone who is imperfect and lacking in many areas? Do you sometimes find yourself thinking these thoughts? God is angry with me. I’m too dirty and damaged for Him to accept me. Why would God want to be with me when I’m a hot mess. Let me give you a secret, it doesn't matter how you feel or what you think. All that matters is what God has said in His word. His word says you are Complete in Christ! You are whole! Nothing missing, nothing lost, nothing broken! This is not by your deeds or something you are on your own. This is because you're in Christ!  Are you in Christ? Colossians 2:9-10 (NKJV) For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead [a]bodily; 10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all [b]principality and power. Colossians 2:9-10 (TPT) For he is the complete fullness of deity living in human form. 10 And our own completeness is now found in him . We are co...

Prayers as we end the year

Prayers as we end the year by Bibi Babatunde-Ikotun I can't believe this year is wrapping up already, we said Happy New Year last week not too long ago and now we're about to say Happy New Year again. We give God all the thanks for another year. You may be thinking, why should I be thankful after everything I experienced this year? And I know that feeling too well. Be that as it may, it is a biblical instruction to remain thankful. There's a lot to say thank you for. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (Amplified Bible, Classic Edition) Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will]. So yes, give thanks to the God of your salvation. Thanksgiving is good for your soul, it helps you remain grounded and grateful.  I love to plan stuff and I wanted to share some of the prayer points that God has laid on my heart for the coming year. I hope y...
